Undergraduate studies at Harvard, where an early interest in businesses, capital markets, and long-term investing began to take shape.
Ken has spent his career building things. The throughline across everything he builds is the same: help more people think about wealth in decades, not quarters.
Founder of Ridgewood Investments, Capital Alliance, and other ventures — always building structures designed to compound over decades, not quarters.
Author, podcast host, and speaker driven by one conviction: the principles that change financial lives are rarely taught well.
As a fee-only fiduciary, he’s legally bound to act in his clients’ best interest, no commissions, no conflicts of interest. Same discipline, higher stakes.
My parents emigrated from India with me and my sister when I was five years old. We started in a one-bedroom apartment in New Jersey.
This country gave us opportunity, and I’ve spent my career making the most of it. Columbia. Harvard Law. Wall Street. And in 2002, Ridgewood Investments.
Everything I’ve built started with the belief that discipline and long-term thinking change lives.
Ideas on value investing, wealth strategy, and what serious investors need to know.”
Conversations at the intersection of investing and building
Companies and ventures built on long-term thinking.
Real wealth is built by doing almost the opposite of what the financial industry tells you to do. You own great businesses. You hold them for decades.
You ignore the noise, trust the math, and let compounding do what Einstein called the eighth wonder of the world.
Everything I’ve built — Ridgewood, Capital Alliance, the writing, the podcast — comes back to that single idea: long-term thinking, applied with discipline, changes lives.

More than a decade at Merrill Lynch and Lehman Brothers, covering equities and advising institutional clients — seeing firsthand how the industry's incentives were structured, and how often advice was shaped more by commissions than by client interest.

05 · 2002
Left Wall Street to found Ridgewood Investments in Springfield, New Jersey — a fiduciary firm built from the beginning to be independent, fee-only, and structurally aligned with the families it serves. Not another product distribution channel.
06 · 2000s–2010s
Grew Ridgewood into a diversified investment platform, including private funds focused on real estate and value equities. Growth came almost entirely through client referrals.
